How to Get a Goat

Before you can get a Goat, and subsequently, Goat Milk, you need to buy the schematic for a Goat Shed from the Drawing Shop next to Balthazar’s shop. It costs 10,000 gold coins, so it may be some time before you are able to afford it inLuma Island. Once you’ve got the schematic, you’ll need to build the shed on your farm. You’ll need the following materials for it:

Mountain Planks and Moonstone can only be foundonce you reach the Mountain, so you’ll need to unlock it before you can finish building the Goat Shed. Mountain Planks can be created by the Saw Mill with Mountain Wood, but to get enough Moonstone Ore for the Bars, you’ll need to enter the Mountain cave. To find it, simply turn left and follow the path when you first enter the Mountain.

Once you have built the shed, you’ll need to buy goats from the Farm Shop in town. They cost 5000 gold coins each, and you can house two goats in the shed at a time. Just remember to build a fence around their shed so they don’t wander off.

How to Get Goat Milk

you’re able to get Goat Milk by feeding the Goats in your shed hay once a day. You can get hay bychopping any grass with your axe, and you can throw it on the ground for your Goats to eat using the R key.

To make your life easier, you can also invest in a Trough and fill it with hay so your Goats always have something to eat, even when you’re not there. This will also save you the effort of having to throw them Hay once a day. You can get the schematic for a Trough from the Drawing Shop, and it costs 10,000 gold coins. Unlike the Goat Shed, though, the material cost to build it is a lot lower:

Goats are also useful for chasing foxes away inLuma Island. Foxes start appearing when you get chickens on your farm, and they force the chickens to hide away in their coop - meaning that they don’t drop eggs or kill the beetles harassing your plants. you’re able to usually get rid of foxes by chasing them yourself, and they’ll run into away for the day, but they reappear every morning. So, having a goat around to deal with them saves you a lot of time and keeps your chickens safe.
