How to Farm on Luma Island

To get started with Farming inLuma Island, you’ll need the Hoe and the Watering Can. You’ll also need Seeds that you can plant on the ground. You’ll find most of them in the Town Farmer’s Shop near the Anvil, where you upgrade your tools.

The five main steps to farming are:

Upgrading your Garden Hoeallows you to till more land at once.

However, crop management becomes essential as you plant different crops on your Farm. Weeds can start to grow on your crops or even the tilled soil that you’ll have to remove. You’ll also have to water your plants at least once every day to make sure they’re healthy.

You won’t have to water your crops if it’s raining outside.

For some seeds, you’ll also have to use Fertilizers (Crafted from the Kiln) to make sure they grow properly. You can craft three types of Fertilizers inLuma Island, and the type of Fertilizer you’ll need depends on the seed you’re growing.

Growing each type of seed also unlocks an Everlasting variant of the Seed in the Mushroom Shop. If you’ve got Everlasting Seeds, you won’t have to buy a new set of seeds after harvesting them. A new crop will grow out of them once harvested.

Managing Crops in Luma Island

While the basic steps to farming are simple enough to understand, managing your crops can become pretty difficult as you start growing and expanding your Farm. Running to each of your farming plots to remove weeds or kill beetles can become exhausting. And let’s not forget the fact that you’ll also have to water each of your plants every single day.

Thankfully,Luma Islandgives you plenty of tools to automate crop management. You can create a fully automated farm in the game by building Sprinklers around your garden plots and keeping different animals. All you need to do is harvest your crops or plant new seeds.
