Reddit user dpouris posted on the mainPokemon GOsubreddit after successfullyfinding and catching a Shiny Mesprit. According to the fan, they were taking a walk and just happened to look at the app when they noticed that the silhouette of a Mesprit was appearing on the Nearby Screen at a local landmark. The player dropped everything and ran towards it, with their luck multiplying even further when they found that the rare spawn was a Shiny. Dpouris successfully caught the Pokemon, filling in a slot of their Pokedex in the process.
Finding Mesprit in Pokemon GO is No Easy Feat
Most Legendary Pokemon are tough to find inPokemon GO, but for many players,Mesprit is even more rare. To start, Mesprit’s spawn and raids are limited to Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India. In other words, those in North and South America are left out of being able to find one without traveling or trading. However, most players would likely recommend trying to get Mesprit through raids, not wild encounters. Finding it on the map at all is reportedly extremely rare, and it has a very low catch rate, too. That, combined with the Shiny factor, makes dpouris' find outrageously lucky and rare.
Catching ‘em all inPokemon GOis no easy feat, especially when region-limited Pokemon are taken into consideration. It can be well worth it to take a chance on a spawn like this, but players should also be cautious. Some noted that they’d seen similar spawns, but at awkward times of night that could be dangerous to wander around in. Sadly,Pokemon GOplayers have been crime targetsin the past, making this concern quite valid. Players should always keep their wits about them while playing, and remember that while a rare Pokemon is great to have, it’s not worth putting one’s well-being at risk for. Thankfully, dpouris got a great find without any problems that will likely be envied for a long time to come.
