The game combines the Liar’s Dice and Liar’s Deck games with Russian Roulette, all presented with a cast of bizarre humanoid animal characters and a cartoony art style. This culminated in a vast Twitch presence on launch, contributing to an all-time peak Steam player count of 113,798. Even now, a few months after it’s release, it continues to pull in a 24-hour peak of 16,342 players, which is impressive.
In the latestLiar’s Barpatch noteson Steam, it was confirmed that a new Chaos Mode ruleset had been added to the game, where each player holds three cards each. Players who correctly call out another player as a liar get to decide who to shoot. If the Master card is in play, the Master gets to decide who is shot. However, if the Chaos card rears its ugly head, then every player at the table will raise their guns against one another at the same time. Finally, gamers looking forgames that let them kill their friendshave the chance to do so in this high-stakes, high-adrenaline game mode.

However, Chaos Mode isn’t the only addition in this newLiar’s Barupdate. Host migration has arrived, allowing the fun to continue, even if the game’s host leaves. Foxy’s outfit has been updated, the lobby has been totally redesigned and given new animations, and there are new characters in the Arcade Bar. On top of this, there are new lines of dialogue to help “uncover more about their backstories.“Liar’s Barisn’t exactly agame with the deepest lore, but it’s appreciated, nonetheless.
As an Early Access game,Liar’s Barstill has a way to go until it’s considered complete. Still, it’s great to see the developer not rest on its laurels, despite the game’s unexpected wide success. If it continues to release more content drops like this before the full release,Liar’s Barcould be considered to be one of thegames that made the best use of Early Access. According to its Steam page, where the game is currently available for 20% off for the duration of the Steam Autumn Sale,Liar’s Baris set to be in Early Access “for 6 months.” This means a release around mid-2025 is likely, although this could always change.
