There are a lot of ways to upgrade gear inPath of Exile 2. You can add Sockets andRunes to create new abilities, use Exalted and Augmentation Orbs to add modifiers, and you can use Transmutation Orbs and Regal Orbs to upgrade Item Rarity. One other way you can upgrade your gear is by increasing its Quality.
InPath of Exile 2, Armor Quality and Weapon Quality is tied to the base stats of that piece of equipment. Its base Damage, Speed, defensive values like Armor and Energy Shield, and other base stats will all be improved as you increase Quality.PoE 2players should be careful when increasing Armor & Weapon Quality, though, as theCurrency required is relatively uncommon.
How To Increase Armor Quality In PoE 2
And How To Get Armorer’s Scrap
To upgrade Armor Quality,Path of Exile 2players must find or craftArmorer’s Scrap. This CurrencyPoE 2players can get is a single-use consumable that increases Quality of Armor by about 2% to 4% each, up to a maximum of 20%. Armor Quality improves the intrinsic stats on a piece of gear, not the Modifiers – Armor, Evasion Rating, and Energy Shield are all affected by Armor Quality.
To get Armorer’s Scrap, you must go out into a map and farm enemies (and open chests) until one drops. It is a relatively uncommon drop, but more will appearthe later you get into the game, especially in Cruel difficulty. Unfortunately, you cannot Craft Armorer’s Scrap, it can only be acquired as a random drop.

There are two methods to increase Weapon QualityPath of Exileplayers can use depending on weapon type. Both ofthese items increase Qualityby about 2% to 4% apiece, up to a maximum of 20%.
Both of these items can only be acquired as a random drop. Just like the Armorer’s Scrap,Path of Exile 2players cannot craft aBlacksmith’s WhetstoneorArcanist’s Etcherto upgrade their Weapon Quality. Both of these Currencies drop relatively rarely from enemies and chests until you reach Act 3, Cruel difficulty, and the endgame.
It’s a good idea to save everyBlacksmith’s Whetstoneand Arcanist’s EtherPath of Exile 2players find in the Stash until the endgame. This way you can quickly upgrade the Quality of a weapon when you reach Cruel difficulty and the endgame and hit a sudden increase in difficulty. Unless you are having serious trouble in an earlier Act, save all of your Armor and Weapon Quality upgrade materials until absolutely necessary (or you reach the max Stack size of 20).
