Some of the resources inNo Man’s Skycan only befound on certain planetsunder specific conditions. One of the resources you might need early on is Frost Crystal, and depending on where you are, you might have to make a short trip to a nearby planet to get your hands on some.

How to Find Frost Crystal in No Man’s Sky
Frost Crystal appears on frozen/low-temperature planetsinNo Man’s Sky. When in space, aim your starship at a planet and use the scanner to reveal its details. You’re looking for terms that describe low-temperature, such asHyperborean Planet,Frozen Planet,Freezing Planet, and others. It also shows Frost Crystal as one of the resources.
Land on the planet and use the Analysis Visor to find theFrostwortplant. Frostwort looks like a tall root with a crystal at the top, and there are always a few of them in one place. To collect Frozen Crystal,you need the Haz-Mat Gauntlet. Once you have it, interact with Frostwort to collect Frost Crystal. While you’re there, make sure to also mine Dioxite, as it’s needed for farming and crafting more Frost Crystal.
After you discover the Frost Crystal, you can use the Catalogue & Guide tab in the menu to locate planets with Frost Crystal.
How to Farm Frost Crystal in No Man’s Sky
you may farm Frost Crystal just like any other plant, but unfortunately, you need the Frost Crystal itself to do that. Once you have Frost Crystal, build aHydroponic TrayorBio-Dome. Then, find Frostwort in the Advanced Technology tab of the build menu and plant it (requires 50 Frost Crystal and 25 Dioxite).
If you’rebased on a frozen planet, you may simply plant the Frostwort in the ground. It takes aboutone real-life hour for the plant to grow, which allows you to take a break and check back in later.
If you don’t have a Frostwort structure unlocked, make sure to progress the Farmer’s Agricultural Research mission.
How to Craft Frost Crystal in No Man’s Sky
Another way to get Frost Crystal inNo Man’s Skyis bycrafting them in the Refiner. There are a few recipes available that can be used to craft it, and all of themrequire Dioxite, which you may find on frozen planets or buy from the Galactic Trade Terminal.

While the last recipe needs the Frost Crystal itself, it allows you to infinitely multiply the resource as long as you have Dioxite. This way, you can never run out of Frost Crystal whenever you need it for crafting or cooking inNo Man’s Sky.
