Sengoku Dynastyallows players to perform various resource-gathering actions as they work on establishing villages. Unfortunately, one activity players are unable to indulge in personally is fishing. This is, at the time of writing, wholly the domain of your villagers and requires you to spend time and energy setting up your village to accommodate fishing.
Naturally, this means your village will need to be near water inSengoku Dynasty, since fisherman’s huts are, currently, the only buildings that must be partially built over water. This restricts your access to fish and products derived from them, like oil, so it’s important to set up fishing sooner or later if you want to make use of these resources.
How to Build a Fisherman’s Hut in Sengoku Dynasty
The trickiest part of assembling a Fisherman’s Hut is finding a spot where it can overhang water. Ideally, if you built your village near the coast, you’ll have access to a beach area where you may put the Fisherman’s Hut. Once you’ve picked out a good spot, you’ll need to go through the usual business of supplying materials step by stepto assemble the structure. The only material you might not have used before this point is bamboo, which you’ll need to create a Fishing Net Rack, though thankfully, bamboo is pretty easy to find growing near rivers.
How to Get Fish in Sengoku Dynasty
Once you’ve built a Fisherman’s Hut, you’ll be able to assign workers to the various workstations inside it. (The Fishing Net Rack and Fisherman’s Workplace.) The Fishing Net Rack allows you to assign people to make Rope and Fishing Nets, butthe Fisherman’s Workplace is your key to acquiring actual fish.Once you’ve assigned someone to work there, you can instruct them to gather fish and seashells and use fish and water to make oil.
They’ll need Fishing Nets to gather fish, so you’ll need to either craft them yourself or set someone up at the Fishing Net Rack to produce them automatically.
Can you Fish in Sengoku Dynasty?
Unfortunately, as of version 1.0 there is no way for the player character to fish. This means thatyou’ll have to outsource fishing to your villagers if you want to have reliable access to fish, seashells, and oil. (Though seashells can also be collected on the beach if you’re willing to do a little scavenging.)
