However, one of the strongest tools in the Ranger’s toolkit is Special Arrows with unique effects, which need to be crafted, bought, or found to be used. The process of crafting a Special Arrow requires understanding the crafting menu, recipes, and which materials combine into what items. Here’s the breakdown.
How to Craft Special Arrows in Divinity: Original Sin 2
Special Arrows can be crafted by combining aShaftand an appropriateArrowheadin the Crafting menu. Here’s how to do it:
Once you’ve crafted a Special Arrow once, its recipe will automatically be added to the Recipe menu. The next time you want to craft it, it’ll be much easier to do through that menu. Note, however, that there are often multiple recipes for crafting a single item, and only the one you use manually or obtain the recipe for will be added to the Recipes menu.

Anything with an edge, like a knife, dagger, sword, or axe, qualifies as a Cutting Tool. Bench Saw is a fixed crafting station that players can encounter throughout the world in various locations, like a Blacksmith’s shop.
Short Sticks can be obtained by using a Cutting Tool or a Bench Saw on aLong Branch, and Long Branches can be obtained by using a Cutting Tool or a Bench Saw on aLog, which is a relatively common pick-up item.
How to Get Arrowheads in Divinity: Original Sin 2
Simple Arrowheads can be obtained by combining aSharp Piece of Metal or Rock or any Bonewith anyCutting Tool.
Simple Arrowheads need to be combined with specific items to create Special Arrowheads. There are 15 special Arrowheads, each with a different recipe and alternate means of crafting. Generally, arrow crafting inDOS2follows the principle of common sense. If an Arrowhead is combined with an Oil Barrel, the result will be a Slowdown Arrowhead, which can then be combined with an Arrow Shaft to create a Slowdown Arrow. Doing the same process with a Water Barrel instead will result in a Water Arrow.
