Here, we will go over the process of doing just that.

When you first arrive at PALS, you will be asked if you want to add a new member to your roster. Answer Yes, and you will be taken to the first step of the recruiting process, which is naming your new team member. You can pick any name, it will not have an effect on your character.

Next, you’ll be asked topick aVocation. These are your options:

This is an important choice, as it determines the playstyle of the character you are creating. Warrior and Martial Artist are more combat oriented, Mage and Priest are magic users, and the rest have their own unique benefits. Once you have settled on a vocation, you’ll move on to choosing gender.

Here, you will be given two options:Appearance Awill be treated as a male, whileAppearance Bwill be treated as a female.

After you pick Appearance A or B, you will pick from four possible outfits and character looks. This choice is purely cosmetic, and only affects the character’s appearance. After the look, you will choose the color of your team member’s hair. There are 14 different colors to pick from.

Be careful when picking the next option,Seed Allowance. You will have to decide if you want to game to pick how to distribute up to5 seeds,or if you want to do it yourself. Once you pick, you cannot go back, even if you haven’t used any seeds yet.

You’ll have to decide where to spend yourSeed Allowancenext. There are six different types of seeds to choose from:

These are tied to the main character’s stats, which affect everything from overall health and MP, to how your stats improve when you level-up. New players should simply let the game choose, as it knows which stats to improve for each vocation. Once you feel more comfortable in your knowledge of the systems, you can do it yourself.

After applying your seeds, the game will randomly assign your character apersonality type.Once assigned, it will explain how that personality type affects that character’s stats. The only way to change personality type is withaccessoriesandbooks.

Finally, you’ll choose what the character sounds like. Once that is done, you will be asked if you want the new character to come with you. If you have a full party, and you say yes, you’ll have to choose a member to stay behind. If you choose no, they will be added to your list of inactive characters, which can be changed downstairs.
