Players will stumble upon several locations from the modern age inHorizon Zero Dawn, and Cauldrons is one of them. These are hidden underground facilities in the game which act like mini-dungeons, requiring players to perform a series of traversal puzzles, and beat the machine boss at the end of it. Although these Cauldrons hold nice rewards, players also unlock the ability to override new machines after completing each one.

All Cauldron Locations in Horizon Zero Dawn

There area total of 5 CauldronsinHorizon Zero Dawn, including 1 in theFrozen WildsDLC. Players will need to explore thoroughly to stumble upon a Cauldron entrance. After players find a way to enter the Cauldron, they’ll need touse their platforming skillsto progress through various machinery inside. At the end of the Cauldron, you’ll need to fight off a machine boss, and then interact with a core to unlock new overrides.

There is a mention of a 6th one called Cauldron PSI, but players can’t access it. Instead, they get overrides from Cauldron PSI after defeating the Corrupter early on in the game. The overrides include Broadheads, Chargers, Control Towers, Watchers, Redeye Watchers, Striders, andTallnecks.

Take down the cultists near the entrance to get the Excavation Key. Reach the top of the scaffolding and use the key on a wooden door to access the Cauldron.

Level 20

The northern area of Cut-Cliffs.

Climb up the stone pillars and follow the ledge to open a secret door to access the Cauldron.
