Summary

AnElden Ringfan has shared a painful but extremely funny clip with the Soulslike community, documenting their dramatic fail in the Belurat Gaol dungeon.Elden Ringjoins a host of FromSoftware games that are punishing by nature, but players’ persistent grind against the challenging foes and environments in games of this ilk still provides a constant supply of entertaining encounters.

FromSoftware is responsible for bringing theDark Soulsfranchise,Bloodborne,Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and more to video games, and many titles have been inspired by the dark fantasy aesthetic and hardcore combat it’s known for, includingBlasphemous.Elden Ringfans would like to see FromSoftware develop a smaller-scaled game next, in the hopes that it becomes a playground for experimentation. The more expansive Soulslikes have no doubt been massive hits, and the fanbase is keen to see more originality from the developer in the future.

Posted on Reddit by ItsPapaLuigi, a 45-second clip was shared on theElden Ringsubreddit, showcasing the Tarnished’s dramatic but hilarious fail against Jar Innards in the Belurat Gaol dungeon. The player can be seen navigating a high ledge, only to be bombarded by the Jar Innards enemies. Just when the player thinks they’ve recovered, another enemy attacks to continue the losing streak and this happens several times to a comical effect.Shadow of the Erdtreefinally revealed what was inside the Living Jar creatures, and the answer was nothing short of nightmarish. The clip proves the grotesque innards are keen to see the Tarnished fall, and the event demonstrates Soulslikes' unforgiving and often unfair gameplay.

Elden Ring Player Shares Hilarious Fail in Belurat Gaol

Elden Ringfans think the Living Jar enemies are straight out ofBloodborne, linking the creatures’ forced transformations to the 2015 title’s dark, scientific themes, and it’s fair to say a majority of Redditors found their relentless pursuit of the Tarnished’s downfall to be highly entertaining. One user stated the clip was “Murphy’s law in the flesh,” and the comical encounter was also compared to the slapstick, hyperbolic scenarios found in cartoons and sitcoms.

Found in the Gravesite Plain, the underground prison area of Belurat Gaol is exclusive to theShadow of the Erdtreeexpansion, and contains various enemies in addition to the Jar innards, like Living Jars, Shadow Undeads, and Messmer Foot Soldiers.Elden Ring’s Belurat Gaol is a minor dungeon that’s a fairly light walkthrough, but events demonstrated in the Redditor’s clip prove every Tarnished needs to remain on guard.
