Perrette’s comments are certainly interesting as they have sparked the possibility of HBO committing to one season per year, which could lead to 10 seasons being created. Considering there are only seven novels, with each one expected to get at least an entire season dedicated to it, there is a chance that some end up having multiple seasons so that HBO can truly dive into the story andprovide all the details from the novelsthat the movies had to cut out. The film franchise opted to take that route for the final novel, which sawHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallowssplit into two movies, ensuring that the finale was given the full attention that it deserved.
On the other hand, HBO could opt to spread the seasons out over a decade, providing some gaps in time to ensure that anticipation builds and that they have enough time to film everything and make any necessary tweaks in the editing room. Giving themselves a 10-year window would provide HBO with slightly more breathing room to get everything spot on, which will be required, considering this franchise is beloved.
