Summary

Gran Turismo 7is getting yet another update on the week of November 18, Polyphony Digital has announced. The November 2023 patch will further expandGran Turismo 7’s car lineup.

The seventh numbered entry in Polyphony Digital’s long-running series of racing sims was released for the PS4 and PS5 in March 2022. The Japanese developer has been putting outGran Turismo 7updateson a regular basis ever since, with new patches usually arriving on a near-monthly basis. Polyphony Digital CEO Kazunori Yamauchi regularly teases upcoming updates on Twitter by posting silhouettes of cars that they are going to contain.

Yet another such teaser was posted by Yamauchi on Friday, November 15, six weeks following therelease ofGran Turismo 7update 1.52. The image that he shared features silhouettes of five vehicles, which seem to be a mixture of SUVs, classic sports cars, supercars, and more mundane models. Yamauchi said that the game’s next patch is planned to launch on the week of November 18. Since Polyphony Digital historically avoids weekend updates, the content drop will most likely debut no later than Friday, November 22.

Two More Porsche Models Are Seemingly Coming to Gran Turismo 7

GTPlanethas identified plausible candidates for at least four of the five vehicles set to expandGran Turismo 7’s car roster, including two Porsche models. The IDs that are the most likely to be correct are the Porsche Mission X Concept and Ford Escort RS Cosworth. The former is a 2023 electric hypercar with an overall distinctive shape, whereas the latter is a homologation special of the fifth European Escort generation, easily recognizable by its unique rear wing. Since the Escort RS Cosworth silhouette shared by Yamauchi seems to have a sunroof, it would appear thatGran Turismo 7will receive the road variant of the vehicle rather than its rally counterpart. The exact manufacturing year of this upcoming addition has yet to be determined, as the Escort RS Cosworth was in production over a four-year period ending in 1996, and all of its road models look similar.

All Potential New Cars Coming in Gran Turismo 7’s November 2024 Update

One of the other silhouettes appears to belong to the 2025 Suzuki Jimny Sierra. The standard Suzuki Jimny was already added to the game as part ofGran Turismo 7update 1.42, which rolled out in late January 2024. The teaser also includes a silhouette of a Porsche 992, a model from the eighth and current generation of the iconic 911 line. This might be the 992 Turbo or Turbo S, neither of which have yet been added to the game.

The biggest mystery is the vehicle at nine o’clock in the image. It has the shape of a classic sports car, which doesn’t really help narrow it down. GTPlanet thinks it might be the Mercedes-Benz W196 Monoposto, but its silhouette also fits the rough shape of the Maserati 250F, Ferrari 500 F2, and dozens of other vehicles produced in the ’50s.
