Summary

A reliable contributor in theGenshin Impactcommunity has provided an overview of the Pyro Traveler’s ability kit and revealed the new Liyue character designed for the Lantern Rite. While Mavuika and Citlali have long been expected for Version 5.3, there was still the matter of the Lantern Rite inGenshin Impact. Since the launch of Inazuma, the Lantern Rite introduced a new 4-Star character from Liyue on an annual basis, but very little information has leaked about the 4-Star intended for 2025.

Whereas Version 4.4 introduced Gaming and Xianyun as the main stars of the patch, Version 5.3 is already quite packed even without the Lantern Rite. Not only are Mavuika and Citlali making their playable debut as 5-Star characters, but thePyro Traveler inGenshin Impactis also rumored for Version 5.3. Though Madame Ping may have originally been intended to join the cast in Version 5.3 during the Lantern Rite, all signs point towards Streetward Rambler being delayed in a similar style to Baizhu during the Sumeru era.

Asshared by hxg_diluc, the new 4-Star character for the Lantern Rite in 2025 will be called Lanyan, and she will share a model type with Nahida and Dori. The leak claims that Lanyan will be an Anemo character with a shield in her ability kit, which potentially opens up some powerful combinations. As an Anemo Shield Support, Lanyan would be able to provide both interruption resistance on top of the bonuses provided by the Viridescent Venerer, which remains one of themost valuable Artifact Sets inGenshin Impact.

Genshin Impact Could Have Its First Anemo Shield Support in Version 5.3

A curious thing to keep in mind is that Lanyan was rumored to be Madame Ping’s playable name. While leaks should be taken with a grain of salt, it’s quite possible that earlier information mixed up the twoGenshin Impactcharacters. As with any Lantern Rite 4-Star, players will be able to obtain a free copy of Lanyan with the annual selector, if they so choose.

The other information contained in the leak provides an insight into the Pyro Traveler’s ability kit. Namely, it is described as being comparable to a Pyro version ofXingqiu inGenshin Impact, which would easily make it on par with the Dendro Traveler in terms of potential. While the method of unlocking the Pyro Traveler remains unknown, players strongly believe that the ability kit is coming in Version 5.3. The current order of Event Banners for Version 5.3 is unknown, but it can safely be assumed that Mavuika will feature during the first half of the update, while Citlali and Lanyan will likely make up the second half. Version 5.3 is expected to launch on Jun 12, 2025.
