Summary
The latest beta build forGenshin Impacthas changed the wording for one of Citlali’s early Constellations in such a way that her buffs now have guaranteed uptime. It’s no secret that Version 5.3 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting updates inGenshin Impacthistory, largely due to how chaotic its beta testing has been. It will introduce a new 4-Star character for the Lantern Rite, close out the Archon Quest in Natlan, see the debut of the Pyro Traveler, and even unveil a new banner system. To top it all off, it will feature Citlali and Mavuika, two characters that will break a few traditions, and certainly ruffle some feathers in the process.
For one, Mavuika will be the firstArchon inGenshin Impactto primarily assume the role of a hypercarry, while Citlali will be a Cryo Support that doesn’t support Cryo. Citlali’s ability kit is tailor-made for Pyro characters such as Arlecchino and Mavuika, as she not only provides a respectable shield through her Elemental Skill, but her ability kit also applies Resistance Shred for Pyro and Hydro with constant uptime. Her Elemental Burst is a Melt nuke, as it scales based off of Citlali’s Elemental Mastery, albeit at a lower damage multiplier than in earlier builds.
According to HomDGCat, Citlali doesn’t have any changes to her numbers in the latest beta build. However, her second Constellation comes with some improved phrasing. Previously, Citlali’s Elemental Mastery buff only applied to characters protected by her Opal Shield. The current build allows the buff to be applied while Itzpapa is on the field, which is a medium that follows the active party member for 20 seconds on a 16-second cooldown. Effectively, this makes the second Constellation ofCitlali inGenshin Impactfar more valuable.
While her fourth Constellation deserves some criticism for restoring Citlali’s original Elemental Burst, the second Constellation has traditionally been a good stopping point for mostGenshin Impactcharacters. In this regard, there is certainly value in getting Citlali to C2. Notably, it allows Citlali to apply 40% Resistance Shred to Pyro and Hydro, and gives a significant Elemental Mastery buff to whoever is the hypercarry on her team.
It should be stated that Citlali is already a decent Support character at a base Constellation level, and while she may not be as flexible as Zhongli, she will certainly find her niche when paired with a decent Pyro hypercarry. In terms of how well she plays with other elements, Citlali is easily the best teammate forChasca inGenshin Impact, as the latter wouldn’t say no to Citlali’s Opal Shield when going through her rotation.
