According to recent footage from the beta servers,Genshin Impactis adding a new world boss in Version 5.3, whose ascension materials will be key in leveling up Citlali. While much of the open world inGenshin Impactcan be considered casual content, it still has a place within the larger progression structure of the game. World bosses play a key role in ascending playable characters, and exploration yields a remarkable number of Primogems.
While Version 5.3 won’t feature anew map expansion for Natlan inGenshin Impact, it will introduce four new playable characters: Mavuika, Citlali, Lan Yan, and the Pyro Traveler. Furthermore, it will host the upcoming Lantern Rite in Liyue, and will also provide a conclusion to the Archon Quests in Natlan. As a result of the latter, Version 5.3 will see the debut of a new Trounce Domain toGenshin Impact. On top of an already stacked update, a new World Boss will also be added in Version 5.3 – primarily to serve as the source of Citlali’s ascension materials.
Thanks to datamining via HomDGCat andfootage provided by KazusaLeaks, the new World Boss will be called the Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker, and players will be able to find her within a cave in Mictlan territory. In terms of visual appearance, the Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker will be the firstWorld Boss inGenshin Impactwho is completely human. In terms of gameplay mechanics, players should prepare their best Pyro characters to counter the Spiritspeaker’s Cryo shields.

Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker
Unlike the Solitary Suanni, the Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker will quickly find her way to theSpiral Abyss inGenshin Impact, as Version 5.3 will feature the new World Boss on Floor 12 after July 01, 2025. Rather amusingly, the Solitary Suanni will also be present in the Spiral Abyss in Version 5.3, albeit on the other side. Coupled with the new blessings for Floor 12,Genshin Impactplayers will be encouraged to assemble their best Melt team to take full advantage of the upcoming challenges in the Spiral Abyss.
The Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker can be immobilized by shattering all four Reflections that appear once she reaches 70% HP. She remains downed for 12 seconds, allowing players to deal an immense amount of uninterrupted damage. Defeating her drops the Talisman of the Enigmatic Land, whichCitlali inGenshin Impactuses as an ascension material. Version 5.3 is set to launch on June 04, 2025.
