Summary
Game Rant can exclusively reveal the secret characters fromServonauts, a quirky co-op experience developed by Australian studio MAXART Games. The upcoming PC andNintendo Switchtitle is scheduled to arrive on November 21.
Servonautsis billed as an absurd couch co-op gamethat tasks players with managing a space “servo,” the term used for gas stations Down Under. Setting up refineries, processing fuel, and servicing a never-ending stream of restless customers will all be an integral part of its gameplay loop.
In addition to its regular roster,Servonautswill feature four secret characters, which Game Rant can now exclusively reveal. This group consists of Cthulnaut, Ducknaut, Greasernaut, and Rexnaut, all of which have fairly self-explanatory names. Although Cthulnaut is based on theterrifying cosmic entity envisioned by H.P. Lovecraft, it’s about as cute as such a character can possibly be. The remaining three secret gas station attendants that players will be able to control inServonautsalso look pretty adorable.
Servonauts Secret Characters
Since these Servonauts are billed as “secret” characters, it stands to reason that players won’t be able to select them right from the start. However, the exact mechanics of unlocking them in the upcomingindie gameare currently unclear. In addition to this secret quartet,Servonautspreviously revealed its default roster, consisting of four unnamed characters, each with a distinct color theme: red, blue, orange, and green. The red attendant kind of looks like a sci-fi firefighter, whereas the green and orange ones were possibly inspired by classic diving gear, like the so-called standard diving dress. Meanwhile, the blue attendant kind of resembles a futuristic welder.
It’s already possible to get some first-hand experience with the game’s main character roster, courtesy of theServonautsdemo that’s now available on Steam. The wacky indie title is also coming to the Switch, although it has yet to receive a demo version for Nintendo’s hybrid console. According to its eShop listing, the Switch edition ofServonautswill retail for $14.99. While this is also the likely price point for its PC version, the game’s Steam page still doesn’t mention anything in the way of pricing details as of November 18.
Servonautsis scheduled to reach the Switch and PC on Thursday, November 21. It will be published by Untold Tales, a Polish company known for distributing a varied assortment of indie games, includingWhat The Duck,Everdream Valley,Arise: A Simple Story, andThe Hong Kong Massacre. Aside from adding to that diverse portfolio,Servonautswill also expand the selection of chaoticcouch co-op games for the Switchand PC.
