Summary
AStarfieldplayer who avoided reaching the endgame for too long caught one of the galaxy’s toughest customers, The Hunter, seemingly getting bored and sliding into housekeeping mode. While someStarfieldplayers' moral compasses will steer them away from siding with The Hunter and his nihilistic ways, seeing the cold-blooded killer going about daily chores creates some unintentional hilarity.
Near the end ofStarfield, players will learn what actually happened to the Earth’s magnetosphere and why the cradle of humanity has become an uninhabitable dust bowl. It’s at this point in the game that players will have to decide whether tochoose The Hunter or The Emissary, two Starborn with vastly differing moral philosophies, to side with as their partner for the deep-space RPG’s final chapters. While The Hunter has the potential to earn some negative karma with the player by killing off one of their fellow Constellation members, siding with him also opens up an extra side mission and the chance to get a special weapon.
The Hunter’s pompous outlook on humanity earns him a spot near the top of the list of themost evil characters in Starfield, but he apparently hasn’t abandoned his desire for a neat and clean living space. Reddit user setsewerd completed the Unearthed mission and joined together with The Hunter only to avoid rushing to the endgame. Sharing a ship with the stone-cold killer, the player caught The Hunter falling into one of game’s on-ship idle animations for NPCs, as The Hunter grabbed a broom and started sweeping the floor of the ship’s hab modules.
Starfield Player Bores The Hunter into Cleaning
While seeing a named character pick up an NPC idle animation isn’t unheard of, this player had some justification for figuring that The Hunter just got bored. The player technically reached theending ofStarfieldabout a year ago, but they haven’t stepped into The Unity and started a New Game Plus. Since the mindsets of both The Hunter and The Emissary have been twisted by repeatedly jumping to alternate universes, this player simply decided not to go through with leaving their original universe at all, which logically, would have left The Hunter with nothing to do by remaining as their companion.
This isn’t the first time in recent memory that a fan of the game has pointed out galactic scoundrels engaging in some out-of-character actions. Earlier this month, another player stumbled upon animmersion-breaking NPC issue inStarfield, discovering that they could successfully pull a covert operation on The Crimson Fleet while dressed in the official gear of UC SysDef, the militaristic police force with the main goal of taking down the space pirate organization.
