Shogun X has returned forFortnite’s Chapter 6 Season 2, and continues his trend of trying to suck the energy out of the Battle Royale island. While visually, this Shogun X is not the original as seen in Chapter 6 Season 1 (since that one died in a fight with Diego in the event), this Shogun X is equally as ruthless, albeit with new loot.
While theFortniteShogun X boss fight remains the same in design and location, the loot obtained from beating him will be different in Chapter 6 Season 2, so players can look below to see just how they can find and beat Shogun X for the best loot for their victory royale.
Where to Find Shogun X in Fortnite
Unlike Shogun X in Chapter 6 Season 1, this Chapter 6 Season 2 variant will not spawn around the map in the early game, and players must instead wait until Storm Circle 4 of 12, around 13 minutes in-game, until the Loot Island spawns. This loot island is noted on the map by its ominous red glow, and heading to this location will allow players to discover Shogun X.
The location of the Loot Island is randomized based on the Storm Circle, but it will always appear at the start of Storm Circle 4.
How to Beat Shogun X in Fortnite
Shogun X has the same move set as his Chapter 6 Season 1 counterpart, so players will need to be cautious of his three methods of attack that fluctuate from close-range to long-range. In random order:
With these three attack methods known, players will have an easier time dealing with Shogun X. This boss fight in particular has a lot of health, but since it’s been 13 minutes since players dropped from the Battle Bus, they should have a good amount of weapons and ammo to take him on.
Recommended weapons consist of fast-firing guns like the Precision Veiled SMG, as well as the Holo-Twister Assault Rifle, and theFalcon Eyes Sniper Riflefor heavy bursts of damage from all three. Melee weapons likeSub-Zero’s Kombat Kitare not recommended due to how this boss rarely takes damage from melee strikes and being up close is a death sentence. However, after perseverance and defeat, Shogun X will drop the following items:
35
5.2
25
Reload Time
2.25
The Enhanced variant of the Holo Twister Assault Rifle provides players with quicker ADS, meaning that they can snap to sights faster so that they can engage in combat with better precision over hipfire. Chapter 6 Season 2 continues the hitscan trend, so with a scope and rate of fire like the Enhanced Holo Twister Assault Rifle, players are in for a treat with a weapon only rivalled by the Veiled Precision SMG when it comes to reliability with its scope, recoil, and fire rate.
Super Shield Medallion Stats
The Super Shield Medallion is sometimes more trouble than it is worth, as it will bait players who are in the process of healing by throwing down a Shield Bubble Jr. at their location to protect them. Sure, the protection is nice so that players do not have to get sniped or shot up while healing, but most players would choose to heal in secluded spots where there isn’t much mayhem.
However, that doesn’t mean the Super Shield Medallion is useless, as in the late game where there are plenty of scopes honing in on the remaining players, healing with the Super Shield Medallion with a Chug Jug, Medkit, Bandage, Shield Potion, or Small Shield Potion, grants a layer of protection and brief invulnerability that dares opponents to try and get closer and face the wrath of a healed player with an Enhanced Holo Twister Assault Rifle.
