Epic Games surprised players by announcing that fan favorite DC characters would be making their return toFortnite. DC characters like Catwoman haven’t been seen inFortnite’sitem shop for nearly a year. Some of the skins have been away even longer than that. In the past, the battle royale has seen major collaborations with DC. The season was a celebration of the game’s past and included collaborations with Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Ice Spice, and the late artist Juice WRLD. Many fans were happy with the return of the old map. In fact,the finale even brokeFortnite’s record for concurrent players. Epic Games followed up the end of Chapter 2 Remix with the release of Chapter 6 Season 1 at the beginning of December. So far, many fans seem happy with the new season. Players have been exploring an entirely new map with Japanese themes that also extend to characters within the battle pass and item shop.

Over on Twitter,Fortnite’s account posted that DC characters would be returning to the game’s item shop throughout December. The re-release of these skins is coming hot off the heels ofrumors about big collaborations betweenFortniteand Marvel. While the account didn’t mention all of the skins that are coming back, the accompanying image showed off Starfire, Harley Quinn, and Catwoman. It’s also possible fans could see skins like Batman and Joker return as well.

The return of these characters is good news for fans, as it shows collaborations between DC and Marvel can continue to coexist within the game. It’s likely players will see Marvel and DC characters share the item shop, asthe collaboration betweenFortniteandMarvel Rivalsis set to debut in December as well. Since cars are now a major part ofFortnite, some fans have even expressed the desire to see a Batmobile in the game.

While Chapter 6 Season 1 has been a hit with many fans, someplayers are unhappy with the changesFortnitehas made to the XP system. Some gamers feel they’re investing too much time and receiving little in the way of rewards. This has proven to be a bit of a hiccup for the battle royale, but many fans are still very positive about the future of the game.
