For those unfamiliar withSwap Fire, it was originally a Wii U exclusive released on the eShop. However,Nintendo has since shut down the Wii U eShop, makingSwap Fireand other games lost to the void. Luckily for those in favor of game preservation, developer Midnight Status has decided to bringSwap Fireback through Steam.Swap Fireis a local multiplayer FPS that utilizes Steam’s Remote Play Together feature. Come December 12,Swap Firewill retail for $9.99. Again, it’s unclear if those that play during the free period get to keep access to the game, or if they too will be prompted to pay $9.99 if they want to keep playing.

For those unfamiliar withSwap Fire, it’s afirst-person shooterwhere players swap places with their opponents by shooting them. This unique mechanic is employed in a variety of traditional FPS match types, like King of the Hill and Capture the Flag, along with more original modes. It earned mixed reviews at the time of its release and Steam users have been expressing similar opinions, but it doesn’t hurt to try it out for free.
PC gamers have had a variety of free games to claim for their digital libraries this month.
