Yoshida added thatFinal Fantasy 14 Mobileis currently being developed by Lightspeed Studios, who recently opened a branch in Japan withformer Capcom game director Hideaki Itsunoleading the way. Lightspeed Studios is a subsidiary of Tencent, and is known for the development of titles likePUBG Mobileand the upcomingLast Sentinel. However, Square Enix confirmed thatFinal Fantasy 14 Mobileis an officially licensed project, and the company would supervise Lightspeed Studios during and after its development.
