Final Fantasy 14’s newest patch 7.11 brings with it the newest Ultimate Raid, Futures Rewritten (Ultimate), based on theEden raid series from theShadowbringersexpansion. Following the story of Ryne and Gaia, the raid holds true to its name and instead tells the story of a possible alternative series of events where Mitron possesses Ryne to take advantage of her powers as the Oracle of Light.
While Normal Raids inFinal Fantasy 14are intended for players of all skill levels to clear them on their first attempt,Ultimate Raidsare designed to push even the most seasoned veterans to their limits, requiring groups to dedicate dozens of hours to learning the fights before they can expect to win. Those that are able to accomplish this feat are well-rewarded withexclusive weapons adorned with unique particle effects, as well as an achievement and the Genesis of Legends title.
How to Unlock Futures Rewritten (Ultimate)
In order to unlock Futures Rewritten (Ultimate), players must first complete theLight-heavyweight Arcadion raid tieron Savage difficulty by defeating Wicked Thunder in the duty AAC Light-heavyweight M4 (Savage). At the time of writing, each boss in the raid series must be defeated before the next fight is unlocked for the week. However, some options are available to bypass this restriction.
A party leader that has progressed further into the Savage raid tier can allow them to bring all other party members into any of their unlocked fights, allowing them to skip past undefeated bosses at the cost of forfeiting any loot those bosses might have dropped. Additionally, the weekly restriction on the Savage raid will eventually be removed just prior to patch 7.2, allowing players to skip the hassle entirely.
Once completed, players can speak to theWandering Minstrel in Tuliyollal (X:11.1, Y:14.6)to unlock Futures Rewritten (Ultimate).
All Ultimate Edenmorn Weapons
Players that complete Future’s Rewritten (Ultimate) will receive an Oracle Totem that can be exchanged withUah’shepya in Solution Nine (X:8.7 Y:13.5)for any Ultimate Edenmorn weapon of their choice. At the time of writing, players can only receive one Oracle Totem per week, with this restriction expected to be removed a few weeks before patch 7.2. Ultimate Edenmorn weapons have an item level of 735 and have stats identical to the item level 735 weapons obtained from the Arcadion Light-heavyweight Savage raid tier, with one exception.
While weapons obtained from the Savage raids have only two sockets to meld materia into, the Ultimate Edenmorn weapons boast three sockets, giving players a marginal increase to their character’s strength. As a result, although the performance benefits are slight, Ultimate Edenmorn weapons are consideredbest-in-slot weapons for every jobin the game until new gear is released in patch 7.2.
