There are many adorable animals to breed and care for inFields of Mistria, but it’s now possible to ride around town using a mount.Fields of Mistria’s first major updatelets you ride a mount for the first time as part of the game’s early access roadmap. If you’re eager to travel around Mistria with speed and style, you’ll likely want to knowhow to get a mountinFields of Mistriaas quickly as possible. Not only can you get a cute horse-style mount called a Mistmare, but you can also customize your mount’s appearance to ride different animals around town.
Of course, to get a mount inFields of Mistria, you need to make significant story-quest progress and find a weathervane for Hayden as part of a new quest in the update.
How To Get A Mount In Fields of Mistria (Find the Weathervane Quest Guide)
To get a mount inFields of Mistria, you must firstcomplete theRepair Hayden’s Barnmain story quest, which becomes available after completing the following seven main story quests:
Upgrading Hayden’s Barn takes a fair bit of work, as you’ll need500 stone,400 wood,8 Iron Ingots, and4,000 Tesseraeto complete the Repair Hayden’s Barn quest. However, doing so not only enables you toget more animalsinFields of Mistriabut also unlocks Hayden’sFind the Weathervane questwhere you canget a mount.
Repair the Weathervane triggers via a cutscene when your character wakes up the following day after repairing Hayden’s farm. A powerful storm blows Hayden’s weathervane off his farm, and Hayden wants your help to track it down. Tofind the weathervane, head toThe Narrowsas marked on the map below, next to ahorse statuethat mysteriously popped up during the storm.
To get a mount,grab the weathervane,andinteract with the horse statuetooffer 100 Essenceto cause a beautiful lilac horse called aMistmareto appear, followed by a short Mistmare tutorial. You can ride the Mistmare mount immediately and while outdoors by pressing thehorseshoe icon button(the= buttonas default on your keyboard) as pictured on the bottom-right of the screen. You can press the same button again to dismount and summon your mount as much as you like provided you are outdoors. You can also harvest items from the ground while riding your mount and don’t need to dismount, but you can’t enter buildings with a mount.
How To Change Mount Appearance In Fields of Mistria
If you want to change your mount’s appearance inFields of Mistria, you may interact with the horse statue to buy askills perkfor your mount calledNice Rideusing205 Essence. This enables you to change your mount’s appearance in theanimal menuby clicking the button pictured above, which shows which animals you can swap your mount’s appearance to. You can swap mount appearance tolarge animalson your farm, providing you already have theseanimals inFields of Mistriato switch to and they have a friendship level of at leastfive hearts:
