The cartoon image of the character with the outstretched thumb is instantly recognizable as being part of theFalloutfranchise, which is why he appears so often inFalloutfan creations. It has been six years since a new game was released in theFalloutfranchise, and nine since a mainline entry. Bethesda has been busy over the last few years withStarfield, and it is set to be occupied for a while yet withThe Elder Scrolls 6. That makes any mainlineFalloutgame unlikely for the time being. Even the success of the TV series doesn’t appear to have kicked anything into gear. Earlier this year, it was revealed that once upon a time,Baldur’s Gate 3developerLarian was interested in making aFalloutgame. It would be interesting to see if Bethesda approaches another third-party studio to continue the IP while it developsThe Elder Scrolls 6.
