Path of Exile 2has multiple types of damage beyond just physical damage that can be used by players and enemies. These magical damage types also have the added effect of potentially dealing a status ailment on the target, giving the upper hand in a fight.

Every Status Ailment In Path of Exile 2

Ailments don’t take away from the damage being done by an attack, and instead add an after-effect on the target. These ailments only have a chance of occurring, with many of them being built up with many hits in a row from a specific damage type, much like Stun. In total there are seven ailments:

Freeze

Targets frozen will be completely unable to act for four seconds.

Shock

Targets shocked will take more damage than usual for four seconds.

Electrocute

Targets are unable to act or perform skills of any kind for five seconds.

Ignite

Targets ignited will catch on fire and receive damage over time fire damage for four seconds.

Poison

Deals damage straight to the target’s health, ignoring armor and shield for two seconds.

Bleed

Deals damage straight to the target’s health, ignoring armor and shield for five seconds.

How To Resist Ailments In Path of Exile 2

While not every attack with those types of damage has a chance of causing one of the corresponding ailments, resisting the damage overall will lower your chances of being inflicted with the ailments. It’s possible to get your resistances very highwith passive skills, though it’s impossible to fully resist any damage type no matter your build.
