Fortnite’s Chapter 2 Remix — a month-long season that saw the return of the Chapter 2 map and loot pool — is on its way out. The season will end this Saturday at 2 PM EST with Remix: The Finale. This in-game event will feature performances from Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Ice Spice, and Juice WRLD. Once Chapter 2 Remix comes to a close,Fortnitewill kick off December with a completely new chapter.
Depending on how long the downtime after Remix: The Finale is, Chapter 6 Season 1 will likely launch on December 1. Epic Games has kept official information on the new chapter and season to a minimum, but leakers in theFortnitecommunity have already released quite a few details that players may speculate on in the meantime. When it comes to its new map, new gameplay mechanics, and new collaborations, Chapter 6 is sure to shake up the game.
What Leakers Have Already Revealed About Chapter 6
Chapter 6’s Map
Much like Chapter 4 Season 2, Chapter 6’s first season is set to be heavily influenced by Japanese culture. However, unlike Chapter 4 Season 2 and its Mega City, the aesthetic of the Chapter 6 Season 1 map will be inspired by feudal Japan and Japanese mythology. So far, only two POIs on the map have been leaked. The first is ademon arenawhere players will be able to fight NPC enemies to obtain loot. The second is an “industrial town.” It is unknown if this location will be featured in Season 1, but if so, it shows the new map won’t be as one-note in theme as Chapter 5 Season 1’s.
While not a full-blown POI, other notable locations on Chapter 6’s map have been leaked. According toWensoing on X, the new map will have a forest biome. This may seem like a given for anyFortnitemap, but the forest area on Chapter 6’s map will not only be purple according to reliable leaker ShinnaBR but will supposedly have a day/night cycle that will cause new animals and NPCs to spawn in the area depending on what time of day it is. Speaking of animals, players will be able to find new cat-like creatures at shrines sprinkled across the map. The creatures will have different elemental types such as wind and water that will likely be visually reflected in the shrines where they are found.
Chapter 6’s Gameplay Mechanics
Every newFortnitechapter has brought interesting new gameplay mechanics with it, and Chapter 6 will be no different. Two new movement mechanics that should be coming at some point in Chapter 6 are the ability to go prone and to swing on ropes. Leaker Loolo_WRLD has also indicated thatChapter 4’s augment systemwill be returning, but it is unknown to what capacity.
Chapter 6 Season 1’s loot pool looks like it will vary Battle Royale’s gameplay in some interesting ways as well. Season-specific items like katanas, kunai, andOni maskshave been found in the game’s files. Much like the new animals mentioned earlier, the Oni masks are said to provide players with abilities based on different elemental types. When it comes to new mobility items, Loolo_WRLD recently shared that ice skates and a hook shot item should be usable at some point in the next season. The hook shot could work similarly to Chapter 3’s grapple glove or Chapter 5’s grapple blade.
Chapter 6’s Collaborations
Leaked key art has already seemingly confirmed the collaboration skins for the next chapter’s first Battle Pass: Baymax fromBig Hero 6and Godzilla. Outside the battle pass, next season will likely bringskins fromDemon Slayerto the game. This collaboration should have some sort of connection to the demon arena found on the map.
Other leaked collaborations include James Cameron’sAvatar, Pixar’sCars,Cyberpunk 2077, and asecond crossover withSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. TheCarscollaboration will add vehicle cosmetics based on Lightning McQueen and Mater that can be used inFortnite’s Rocket Racing mode. Another ofFortnite’s newer modes, Fortnite Festival, will be collaborating with New Jeans. Members of the band will be unlockable in the Festival Pass starting in January.
Chapter 6’s New Modes
According to leaker Egyptian_Leaker on X, Epic is currently working onnine new game modes forFortnite. These include new LEGO modes, a new vehicle-based mode, an open-world story mode, a 5v5 Overwatch-style mode, a mini-Battle Royale, and a new limited-time mode. It’s unknown if all of these modes will debut during Chapter 6 or are being saved for further down the road.
While many of the mentioned leakers such as ShiinaBR have proven track records, none of these leaks or rumors have been officially announced by Epic. This means that they should all be taken with a grain of salt. That said, if even half of these leaks prove to be true, then Chapter 6 could be an incredibly interesting year forFortnite.
