Whether players are continuing their journey on a legacy character, or players who started playing afterNew World: Aeternum’s Season of Opportunity updatewho will be participating in this event for the first time this year, this event has plenty of worthwhile rewards that players may want to grab while they’re available.
The Thanksgiving event will be available inNew World: Aeternumfor two weeks, from November 20 to December 4. Throughout the event, players can earn special rewards from skinning regular turkeys throughout the world, and there will also be a level 66 boss for players to fight in certain territories around the map.
New World: Aeternum’s Thanksgiving 2024 Event Introduces a New Open-World Boss
There are two main ways players can participate inNew World: Aeternum’s Thanksgiving 2024 Event, one of which is the returning open-world boss, Turkulon. This comically-sized turkey is a level 66 boss accompanied by an army of turkeys that will spawn in set locations throughout Everfall, Brightwood, Mourningdale, Restless Shore, Windsward, Monarch’s Bluffs, and Cutlass Keys territories.
Similar to Baalphazu fromNew World: Aeternum’s recent Halloween event, players will need a group of several other players to defeat Turkulon. There’s a generous pity system in place for the loot from this boss fight, where killing Turkulon 16 times throughout the event will guarantee that players earn every possible reward from the boss if they haven’t earned them all by that point.
Players can type “X Turkulon” in the Recruitment chat to find other players participating in the Thanksgiving Event boss fight.

New World: Aeternum’s Thanksgiving 2024 Event Tasks Players with Hunting Turkeys
Aside from the epic Turkulon open-world boss fight, the other way players can participate inNew World: Aeternum’s Thanksgiving 2024 Event is by skinning ordinary turkeys throughout the game during the event’s duration. This part of the event shares a few of the rewards that can drop from the Turkulon boss fight, although there are a few exclusive rewards between these two parts of the event. One thing to consider is that skinning turkeys can be done at any level, unlike the Turkulon boss fight, which is typically recommended formax-level players inNew World: Aeternum.
Turkeys can be found in the majority of territories inNew World: Aeternum, though Monarch’s Bluff, Windsward, and Everfall often have large populations of turkeys immediately outside the Settlements and farm POIs in these territories.
This part of the event is a great opportunity for players to level up theirskinning and cooking trade skills inNew World: Aeternum. Among the various cosmetic rewards and consumables that players can earn from skinning turkeys during the Thanksgiving 2024 event is a unique skinning knife that will give players increased rewards for harvesting turkeys both during and after the event.
