The survival action-adventure gameEnshroudedrecently received a brand new DLC to accompany its base game. Named ‘Souls of the Frozen Frontier,’ the expansion introduced a plethora of new elements, such as unexplored lands for players to investigate, crafting options,open world class systems, and original quests, alongside a slew of other new additions to gameplay.
As part of this DLC, the developers Keen Games alsoadded pets and animalsto the game, ranging from dogs to cattle, while allowing players to tame these wild creatures for companionship as they explore the lands of Embervale and try to survive within its vast open world.

Man’s best friend - the dog can be actively tamed inEnshrouded.Dogs can be rescued from the harsh world of Embervale and taken to your base. Threedifferent dogscan be rescued, located in various areas across the open world. The first is Ruffles. Ruffles is a labrador-looking dog with a yellow-beige color and excessive energy. Ruffles can be found in the village of Thornhold, locked up in a cage by scavengers. Players also have the chance to rescue Ikko, a deserted pup found in the Abandoned Watchtower. The dark-colored pooch has been seemingly left to his own devices, wandering the tower aimlessly until picked up by the player.
The final dog players can find is Pompom Jr in the village of Shorewatch, in one of the area’s dungeons. As with all the tameable animals inEnshrouded, Pompom Jr can be tamed using bait and petting to settle the creature before returning it to base.
As with dogs, cats can also be tamed. Much like dogs, players can tame three cats inEnshrouded.The striped cat Tyger, known for its hunting prowess, can be found in the village of Lone Thistle, overridden by the evil Fell. The cat Sapphire, named after its namesake village, the Sapphire Strand, can be located in the hamlet, patrolled by scavengers. The final cat obtainable is the aptly named Captain Whiskers, found in another scavenger settlement known as the Scavenger Ruins. This black cat constantly demands attention, purring adorably when the player is near.
Nomad Highlands
Eggs
Alongside household pets, Flameborn can also tame (as pets) a range of farm animals to produce goods such as eggs. One of these is the Flightless Redtail. A red and orange-colored bird that cannot fly, the Redtail can be found in the Nomad Highlands and can be tamed using Flightless Redtail Food Bait. Once tamed, thesemajestic creaturescan be taken back to base and produce eggs for consumption.
Springlands
Milk
Goats are essential in the production of milk inEnshrouded.Located in the Springlands, Goats are fairly timid in the lands of Embervale, running away from suspected players upon approach - making them hard to tame. Alongside their produce, goats can be harvested for fur, meat, and bones, all used in crafting. Goats are one of the main creatures players can tame inEnshrouded.
Albaneve Summits
Frizzy Goat Milk
A variation of the normal goat, Frizzy Goats are notably harder to tame than their counterparts. Frizzy Goats also flee the player upon sight, producing Frizzy Goat milk instead of basic milk used in crafting. These creatures are found in an entirely different area than the common variety, known as the Albaneve Summits, which are frosty mountains that host unimaginable darkness at their peak.

While not useful in their produce, Hophare are bunny-like creatures found in the Springlands. These tiny furry creatures do not produce anything of value aside from the raw meat and fur they drop upon death. Nevertheless, they make cute pets, becoming a cuddly staple of a player’s base when tamed.
Revelwood
Fae Deer Milk
The adorably cute Fae Deer can be tamed using Fae Deer Food Bait, living in the forestry base of Revelwood. The creature produces Fae Deer milk that can be consumed once cooked and resembles a deer crossed with a fairy. Much like the othertameable creatureson this list, the Fae Deer enjoys all the attention it can get from the player, playing into its adorableness.
Wool
The final tameable pet on this list is the Yak. Like its real-life counterpart, Yaks inEnshroudedare giant hairy cattle with large horns protruding from their heads. These creatures, once tamed, can be used to produce raw wool, which can be used in crafting. Sought after creatures in the realm of Embervale, Yak is found on Albaneve Summits, much like the Frizzy goats, prized for their wool and dense pelts to protect against wintery conditions.
