Summary
In 2021, Saikyo Jump announced that it would hold an exhibition that would contain the covers of theDragon Ballmanga redrawn by other popular mangaka. The exhibition commemorates the 40th anniversary of the Dragon Ball manga.
So far, more than 40 covers have been released. With only a handful of spots remaining, it has been confirmed that the next volume cover will be redrawn by none other than Eiichiro Oda, the author of One Piece.Oda will work on one of theremaining covers. The new cover will be released in Saikyo Jump Issue #2 2025.
Eiichiro Oda Joins A Long List
The new covers pay homage tothe work of the late Akira Toriyama.Considered by many to be the herald of the modern shonen, Akira Toriyama is a legend of the industry. Many mangaka have been vocal about the influence of Dragon Ball.
In fact, Akira Toriyama’s influence can be found in several new manga. The new covers will be presented at the Dragon Ball Super Exhibition, which will be held in Japan.

When Did Dragon Ball Start?
Akira Toriyama started working onthe Dragon Ball series in 1984. It was serialized in the Weekly Shonen Jump from 1984 to 1995. Despite the manga having ended a long time ago, it is still popular throughout the world. It has sold over 150 million copies, which makes it one of the best-selling manga.
Dragon Ball has been the recipient of many animeadaptations. The first anime series aired from February 1986 to April 1989. It consisted of 153 episodes. Dragon Ball Z was next in line. The anime adapted the final 325 chapters. Dragon Ball Z began airing in 1989 and reached its end in 1996. The other anime adaptations include Dragon Ball GT, Dragon Ball Z Kai, Dragon Ball Super, and Dragon Ball Daima.
The Dragon Ball series has 20 movies to its name along with an array of video game adaptations,with Dragon Ball Sparking Zero beingthe most recent.
