Dragon Age: The Veilguardwas released on October 31, and it is the first game in the series in almost ten years. InThe Veilguard, gamers can choose their faction for the first time. While players would be part of the Grey Wardens inDragon Age: Origins, and inevitably become the head of the Inquisition inDragon Age: Inquisition, the latest entry gives them the choice between the Grey Wardens, Mourn Watch, Lords of Fortune, Shadow Dragons, Veil Jumpers, and Antivan Crows.
Now, BioWare has revealed the most popularfactions inDragon Age: The Veilguard. Unsurprisingly, the Grey Wardens appear as the most popular faction, with 24% of all gamers picking the faction of Darkspawn slayers. What is somewhat not as expected is that the Shadow Dragons appeared tied in first place with the Grey Wardens, with 24% of all players picking them as well. They are followed by the Antivan Crows, of which Zevran and Lucanis are a part, with 16%. Bellara’s Veil Jumpers are only slightly behind with 15%. The Lords of Fortune and the Mourn Watch are the least popular groups, with 11% and 10% of the votes respectively.
What Are The Most Popular Factions in Dragon Age: The Veilguard?
BioWare has also recently revealed themost popular races and classes inDragon Age: The Veilguard. Around 40% of all gamers played as Mages, and Rogues and Warriors were equally divided into 30% of the player base each. Concerning the race options in the RPG, most gamers unsurprisingly played as humans, with 43% of them picking this option. They were followed by Elves at 40%, Qunari at 11%, and Dwarves at 6% of all total players. Obviously, all of these statistics are based on the early adopters of the game, so it’s unknown whether they will change over time.
Overall,Dragon Age: The Veilguardhad a positive reception, gaining an average critic score of 81 on OpenCritic, and being positively reviewed by 72% of all players on Steam. While these are not overwhelmingly positive numbers, the critical reception of the game still looks much more positive thanMass Effect AndromedaandAnthem, which were BioWare’s previous titles. However, BioWare has recently revealed that it does not plan to launch DLC for the game, and is already starting development of the nextMass Effect.
