A new update forDragon Age: The Veilguardis now live, adding a number of quality-of-life changes and some much-needed bug fixes across all platforms. In addition to this latest patch, theDragon Age: The Veilguardteam announced that another update would be coming soon.

Following the release ofDragon Age: The Veilguardon October 31, fans of the long-running fantasy franchise have been eagerly returning to Thedas, withpastDragon Agegames seeing huge player count bumps.The Veilguarditself has managed to pull in a sizable audience as well, almost reaching 90,000 concurrent players on Steam on the weekend following its release. This made the fourth entry in theDragon Agefranchise one of EA’s largest single-player PC launches to date, and it’s unclear how many people are enjoying the title on console.

BioWare has released anotherpatch forDragon Age: The Veilguardon PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Some of the most notable quality-of-life changes include the addition of Filters for use in Photo Mode, new icons for select weapons, and a notification when the Crossroads' Spirit Merchant is available. Additionally, arrow keys can now be bound to input mappings, and screenshots taken in Photo Mode will now have simplified file names, simply showing the date when the photo in question was taken.

Dozens of bug fixes are also included in Patch 3, including one causing music to stop playing unexpectedly. The causes of some crashes have been removed, and certain characters and environmental objects have seen their textures improved, while several distance “pop-in” issues have also been fixed. Many other fixes relate to strange facial expressions, object clipping, and issues with NPCs, including one problem in whichthe Mayor of D’Meta’s Crossingwas appearing in two places at once.

While the world of Thedas is vast and there are many stories left to be told, Bioware recently confirmed thatDragon Age: The Veilguardwould not have post-launch DLCas the team is shifting focus to the next game in theMass Effectuniverse. This has disappointed many fans of the franchise, given thatThe Veilguardwas released almost a decade afterDragon Age: Inquisition. The latter had three DLCs:Jaws of Hakkon,The Descent, andTrespasser. Although the future of the series is unknown, many hope that a fifthDragon Agetitle will come to be someday, as it has proven to be one of BioWare’s most beloved IPs.
