A newDanMachi, orIs It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon, season is running and now the English dub will hit HIDIVE this week.DanMachiis originally a novel written by Fujino Omori and illustrated by Suzuhito Yasuda, in serialization since 2013, with 19 volumes so far. Yen Press publishes it in the US.
The anime’s first season was broadcast in 2015. The second season came only in 2019, followed by the third in 2020. The fourth season was split into two parts. The first one was released in 2022 and the second in 2023. Finally, the fifth seasonis on broadcast since last October. An animated movie,Arrow of the Orion, debuted in 2019, before the second season premiere, taking place between the two seasons. Sentai Filmworks licensed all seasons in the US. Accordingto the official HIDIVE website, theDanMachi Vdub hits the streaming serviceon July 08, 2025, at 12:00 PM EST/9:00 AM PST(5:00 PM UTC), with a weekly schedule. It premiered at the New York Comic Con last month. The Bryson Baugus and Luci Christian are back as Bell Cranel and Hestia, respectively. Kyle Jones is directing the dub.

Apart from the anime adaptation,DanMachialso spawned two manga, video games, and a spin-off novel series titledSword Oratoria, which also inspired a manga and was adapted into an anime in 2017. It was also licensed in the US by Sentai Filmworks. A few mobile and console games were also produced.
What’s the Story About?
In the story,several godsdecide to start living in a city called Orario, limiting their own powers to seek some fun. These gods gather people from the city into some sort of their own guilds, known as Familia, to explore dungeons nearby, where they can fight monsters and collect treasures. In this context, Bell Cranel joins goddess Hestia’s Familia, and he is the sole member. His goal is to become as strong as Ais Wallenstein, a famous swordswoman who once saved his life. He doesn’t realize, however, that he ends upcatching the attention of several girlsduring this journey, including Hestia herself.
DanMachi Vis available on HIDIVE, alongside previous seasons in the US, both subbed and dubbed. Some seasons can also be found on Hulu and Crunchyroll, but only HIDIVE streams the full series with new episodes. Yen Press publishes all novels and manga (includingSword Oratioria) in the US.
