Dandadanhas been getting solid weekly views on Netflix since its debut on Jul 23, 2025, and now it’s more popular thanDragon Ball DAIMAon the platform. The first timeDandadanappeared on Netflix’s Global Top 10 for Non-English series was in its first full week after the premiere (October 7–14) — the episodes are released on Fridays, so the first one was too tight on schedule to make to the top from September 30 to October 6.
But since then, the series has been keeping a place in the Top 10, with an average of 3,000,000–4,000,000 weekly views.Dragon Ball DAIMAdebuted on Netflix on October 18, a week after premiering in Japan and on Crunchyroll. Despite the late schedule, it gathered more views thanDandadanin its first week.
But it didn’t last for long. The public soon lost interest in the latestDragon Balladventure, although it is still featured in the weekly Top 10 on both October 28–November 3 and November 4–10 weeks.Dragon Ball DAIMAis getting around 1,000,000–2,000,000 weekly views, reaching 10th place.Dandadan, on the other hand, kept in 2th-3th position(this week, it is only behindMurder MindfullyandThe Cage), andthe story is also in a peak.
Does It Mean Dragon Ball DAIMA Is a Flop?
As would be predictable,Dragon Ball DAIMAwas trending when it debuted. It is one of the most awaited 2024 anime. The seriesseems to be losing momentum, although a lot of fans still enjoy its classicDragon Balladventure atmosphere. But, differently fromDandadan, the newDragon Ballanime is a “late simulcast” on Netflix.
Dragon Ball DAIMAwas also behindDemon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: Hashira Training Arc, which was viewed over 2,000,000 times in each of the last two weeks.Demon Slayerarrived at the platform on May 20, 2025, months after Crunchyroll started streaming it.
It is hard to compare due to the broadcasting schedules
We don’t have Crunchyroll numbers to compare on which platform both series get a higher audience, so it could be both thatDragon Ball DAIMAis not performing as well asDandadanon both platforms, or it could be that Netflix gathers fewer viewers because of its “late” schedule.
At the very least, it’s clearDAIMAlost a bit of momentum on Netflix, because, despite the schedule, it was able to gather over 3,000,000 views in its first week. It is important to keep in mind that over 1,000,000 weekly views is not a small number, but Netflix was probably expecting more, sinceDragon Ballis a well-established franchise. Despite not having official numbers from other services, it does seem that “latecasting” was not a good strategy this time.
