Summary
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6developer Treyarch Studios kicked off another double XP weekend on November 27, while also adding Stakeout 24/7 and Prop Hunt into the mix, but fans are convinced that the amount of XP they’re earning isn’t actually being doubled. This weekend’s double XP event marks the second sinceCall of Duty: Black Ops 6’s launch in October, and it’s the second time that players have noticed an issue with XP earn rates.
Black Ops 6has had the biggest launch inCall of Dutyhistory, according to Activision. But that doesn’t mean that the series' latest entry has been completely void of issues and controversy. While fans are already protesting that this weekend’s double XP event is “broken,” Treyarch was already forced to address the same issue duringBlack Ops 6’s first double XP weekend earlier this month. After much backlash from the community, Treyarch confirmed it had “addressed an issue that occasionally limited the amount of 2XP awarded to some players.” The studio would also go on to extend the event by an extra day for the inconvenience.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Players Aren’t Happy With Double XP Weekend
Almost an entire month later and players seem to be having the same issue with thelatestBlack Ops 6double XP weekend. Over on Reddit, multiple postsare calling out Treyarch for not granting enough XP. While the users note that the end of a match still says “double XP,” they do not feel as if the number being granted matches what it should for 2x earn rate. “2 days ago I was getting a low of 8k to a high of 15-20k with a double XP token; for the double XP event I’ve played roughly 10 games and the max XP I’ve earned is 9k,” Reddit user TheRedOneX said.
While there are plenty of users agreeing that something isn’t right, some were pointing out thatBlack Ops 6’s popular Stakeout 24/7 playlisthas always granted less XP than base modes (likely due to the short amount of time that games last), which could be the reason why so many players believe they are earning less XP than usual. However, not everybody’s issue is stemming from the non-stop Stakeout playlist. Reddit userFit_Champion_6217says they’ve been playing Liberty Falls for the last few days but “double XP does not feel much faster,” whileMrallday710believes XP has been “lowered across the board” as they’ve been playing both multiplayer andWarzone, but feel as though both are giving very little XP.
This isn’t the first time that Treyarch has found itself in hot water withBlack Ops 6players over double XP either. When the studio’s shooter was first released, none of player’s accumulated double XP tokens from 2023’sModern Warfare 3had been brought forward, much to the disappointment of the community. Then, completely out of the blue, a new update brought back the Legacy Tokens for everyone, only for Treyarch to remove them a few days later. After massive backlash from fans, the studio said it was working on returning them to players, with a new update being deployed on November 19 that sawBlack Ops 6player’s beloved double XP tokens returned to them.
