Summary
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6players are calling for developer Treyarch Studios to remove one of the game’s most controversial features: the Winner’s Circle. This divisive post-match victory screen has been present in a handful of otherCall of Dutytitles, such asBlack Ops 3,Infinite Warfare, and more, but its addition inBlack Ops 6has sparked a huge debate on whether or not it has a place in the series.
While the latestCall of Dutygame has been a massive success for both publisher Activision and developer Treyarch, it hasn’t been without its fair share of controversies. The Winner’s Circle debacle has been a hot topic in the community ever since the shooter’s first beta weekend earlier this year, but Treyarch found itself in hot water with fans once again earlier this month afterremoving players' Legacy XP tokens fromBlack Ops 6. Thankfully, after massive backlash from the community, the developer would go on to release a new update and return players' XP tokens.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Players Want Treyarch to Remove the Winner’s Circle
Black Ops 6’s Winner’s Circle continues to divide the community, with players now calling for it to be completely removed from the game. In a new post on Reddit, which has garnered almost 7,000 upvotes at the time of writing, user vans_onmyfeet asked if Treyarch could just “get rid” of the Winner’s Circle altogether. They then noted that, despite numerousupdates forBlack Ops 6, emotes are still broken during the Winner’s Circle. They also said that the emotes are “stupid anyway” and that they would “rather not see a closeup of the ugly character design.”
While the massive number of upvotes shows that the majority of people would like to seeBlack Ops 6’s Winner’s Circleremoved, not everybody agrees. Reddit userSufficient-Ad6516says they “like the Winner’s Circle” as well as the Best Play feature, which allows users to “show off” when they rack up plenty of kills. The user goes on to state that the Winner’s Circle is a “weird thing to be upset by” when there are a plethora of other bugs and glitches that Treyarch should be focusing on fixing.Ecstatic-Compote-399also agrees, saying that they’ve “always liked” the Winner’s Circle, but does believe that Treyarch needs to add more emotes to avoid the infamous “Shhh” spam at the end of every single game.
Despite a large number of players calling for its removal, it’s highly unlikely that Treyarch will remove the feature. However, the future ofCall of Dutycould see major elements, such asBlack Ops 6’s Winner’s Circle and new Omnidirectional movement system, take a backseat in future installments. According to an industry insider, Microsoft has now chosen a committee of individuals to oversee any new features added to the series, meaning the franchise’s core developers will no longer have the final say on any major innovations.
