Summary
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6players are sharing their frustrations with teammates who refuse to play the objective in certain game modes. This isn’t an issue specific toCall of Duty: Black Ops 6, having been a problem in the series for years, but it’s no surprise to see it rear its head again in the new title.
Across themultiplayer game modes inCall of Duty: Black Ops 6, only one is scored by kills and kills alone: Team Deathmatch. Even in Kill Confirmed, where kills are necessary to drop the dog tags to pick up, they mean very little if no one is actually bothering to collect them. Many players see objective-based modes like Domination and Hardpoint as an opportunity to farm weapon camos, with games lasting much longer compared to Team Deathmatch. This often comes at the expense of objective play. Sure, kills help to win these games, but it’s nothing without one or two players playing objectives exclusively to try and win the game. It’s causing a small rift in the community.
Several threads have appeared online lately complaining about teammates refusing to play the objective. One thread from user metalfingers222 pointed out that playing the objective can actually be quicker for earningCall of Duty: Black Ops 6camos, as it gets players more involved in the action. Another player here pointed out that any team with six players who all played the objective “would never lose again.”
Black Ops 6 Players Want Teammates to Play the Objective
With problems come solutions. Another thread from Redditor Enszourous suggested that XP rewards from playing the objective need to be “double or even triple” their current levels. Right now, there’s a sentiment thatCall of Duty: Black Ops 6punishes objective playersby placing them at the bottom of the leaderboard. Increasing the XP gained by playing the objective would be a good solution for this, but it wouldn’t be a huge help when it comes to the fact that many players are just there to grind out camos.
Despite community frustrations about this problem, it’s not something that Treyarch has directly addressed yet. The good news is that the studio frequently releasesnew updates forCall of Duty: Black Ops 6, making minor balancing tweaks to various things. XP rates for objective play would be easily changed, so it wouldn’t be a massive surprise to see Treyarch experiment with this in the future. It’s understandable why it’s such a big problem for players at the moment, and hopefully, the developer can find the right solution.
