Sōō Zabimaru, The Two Kings
Renji’s True Bankai
Sōō Zabimaru originally had only one fight to show his power. Renji’s utter annihilation of Mask de Masculine. While this one battle was incredibly impressive for him. It only allowed him to show a glimpse of what he could really do now that he knew his true name, and he trained at the Royal Palace. He displayed two major abilities; Hihiō and Zaga Teppō. These were used to quickly annihilate the Quincy.Now in his new battle against Uryuu, Renji shows what he can really do with his newfound strength.

Hihiō, Baboon King
The cowl portion of Sōō Zabimaru transforms into a skeletal monkey’s arm that Renji controls with his left arm. With this, he can use it as an extra limb to grab and pummel his enemies. This monkey arm is so powerful that it caneffortlessly crush bones and throw around its enemy with ease. Renji can power up to deliver a devastating punch with a monkey arm by expelling fire from the circular protrusion in his arm.
Orochiō, Great Snake King
The vertebrae section that acts as a sort of belt transforms into a tail, while the blade of the Bankai transforms into a serrated whip similar to his Shikai. With this, Renji can use his blade in a very similar way to how his Shikai works.
Sōō Zabimaru, Zaga Teppō, Twin King Snake Tail, Snake Fang Iron Gun
Renji impales his enemy with his blade and by turning his fist as if turning a key, he manifests two gigantic snake jaws made of spiritual energy. These jaws close down on the opponent as it shoots a massive blast of energy into them, creating a massive explosion. This attack isstrong enough to turn his enemy into ashes. This is what Renji used to defeat Mask de Masculine. However, when used against Uryuu, the Quincy’s Blut Vene negated the attack.
Zazekka, Snake Tongue’s Echo
Renji turns the blade of the sword into a segmented blade just like his Shikai. Using it to attack from a longer distance.
Hihi Tenshō, Baboon Pelt Reincarnation
Renji sheds the fur from his skeletal monkey arm and the batches of fur left on the ground turn into individual monkey arms that hold onto the enemy and restrict them in place, allowing a follow-up attack.

Hikotsu Taihō, Baboon Bone Cannon
The one special move that is retained from the original incomplete Bankai, Renji fires a concentrated blast of spiritual energy from the monkey’s arm. The original incomplete Bankai shot a red blast from the snake’s mouth. This time it is a bright glowing orange.This is due to Renji’s change in spiritual pressure.
Zagai Zekkō, Snake Bone’s Absolute Roar
In one of Renji’s more powerful attacks, he grabs the Orochiō section of the Bankai with his monkey arm and spins it over his head, slowly creating a giant disc of spiritual energy. He then launches it at the opponent, causing a gigantic explosion that leaves a crater in place. This attack is so powerful that he must charge it with spiritual pressure for at least 20 seconds.
Thanks to this anime-original battle between Renji and Uryuu, fans now have a much better look at Renji’s true Bankai, Sōō Zabimaru. The anime made sure to display the full extent of Renji’s new power. Now, understanding of his strength is no mere speculation based on one singular appearance, but rather a complete understanding of how incrediblypowerful the vice-captain of Squad 6 has now become.
