It can’t be called a tower defense game without, well, towers. These bastions of destruction are the backbone of the strategy, the immovable sentinels that stand between the kingdom and utter annihilation. In most games, players are limited to just five of these trusty structures. Some towers are returning fan favorites and some are entirely new, especially with the addition of the franchise’s big bad; Vez’naz’s Dark Army.
Towers can evolve, adapt, and unleash devastating skills that make them feel alive (despite being buildings). Whether fans are upgrading them to rain fiery hell on enemies or slow them down with frost-coated projectiles, towers are more dynamic than they have any right to be. It’s not just about where gamers place them; it’s about how they’re molded into the perfect tools of destruction. TheSteamversion of this game does come with all towers unlocked during the main campaign, whereas the mobile version has a few “premium towers” (read as microtransactions). This list does contain mostly free towers, but there are a few of the paid option… they’re premium for a reason.
