InDungeon Clawler, each of the playable characters has lost a paw, and we play through their efforts to retrieve it from the depths of the dungeon via Claw Machine combat. Each of the initially selectable playable characters has a unique ability to aid them in their quest, with some being better suited to certain playstyles than others.

In thisDungeon Clawlerguide, we’ll discuss each of the starting characters and their abilities, discuss combos that work well with them, and then suggest the best character to pick when starting the game for the first time. If you want my personal opinion, I think that Sir Bunalot and Count Clawcula are the best picks for new players, owing to their powerful unique abilities and general ease of use.

Sir Bunalot

Sir Bunalot is the character featured in the game’s opening cinematic, a knight who lost everything gambling. Fittingly, his unique ability gives him a boost to his maximum HP and allows him to start every encounter with 5 Armor. This makes him a well-rounded character with plenty of room to build in many different directions. He performs especially well when paired with perks that grant even more armor at the start of an encounter, and items like the Energy Drink (which converts armor into strength), the Mace (Which converts some of your Armor into Damage), and any other item that interacts with Armor.

Scrappy

Scrappy, Sir Bunalot’s Metal-Obsessed Cousin, is another good option when starting out, though he’s much more heavily specialized.Scrappy replaces his second claw on each turn with a Magnet Claw, which can be used to quickly and easily retrieve huge quantities of metal items from the machine. He also gains 1 Strength whenever he collects 5 or more metal items at once. Naturally, Scrappy is well suited to strategies involving the Whetstone, which buffs the damage of all metal items close to it in the machine.

He also makes great use of the Hand of Midas and the Gold Dagger. The former turns all fluff near it into gold, while the latter deals additional damage based on how much gold you’re carrying. Pair this with the Fluffy Perk to put more gold in the machine, and that magnet will start turning you a huge profit while the Gold Dagger turns all that money into damage.

Felina

Felina is a fantastic but slightly more complicated option for players that want to take advantage of Cream Puff.Cream Puff is a cat that permanently fights alongside Felina, gaining Strength equal to hers and attacking whenever something hits her. By stacking strength-boosting items like the Amulet of Strength, Ring of Strength, and Spiky Stressball, while also using shields and other armor-boosting items to help her survive, Felina can deal a ton of damage during the enemy’s turn via Cream Puff. You can also get extra cats by finding Felinas Pet Carrier and adding it to your deck, though you can only have two at a time.

Count Clawcula

Count Clawcula got evicted from his vampire castle after losing a lot of money on bat races, and his unique ability is a double-edged sword. Count Clawcula heals for 10% of any damage he deals to enemies, though this comes at the cost of being unable to block. This means that all forms of shield and armor-boosting items are useless to Count Clawcula. Instead, players will get much more mileage out of an offensive strategy, focusing on critical hits, Strength buffs, and/or the ever-powerful Gold Dagger. You can also use the Deep Cuts and Enraged perks to improve your odds of landing critical attacks on foes. The Magic Wand, which heals the user while dealing damage, is also excellent for supplementing Count Clawcula’s playstyle.

If you can nab the Vampire Fangs perk to boost his healing a little more, that’ll aid in his survivability, though the best way to bolster his defense is by using the Brass Knuckles to stack dodge and outright avoid a few attacks. One final tactic of note is using weapons like the double bladed sword to lower Clawcula’s health and hit the threshold for the Enraged perk with greater frequency, while also boosting the damage of the Thermometer, leveraging Count Clawcula’s healing to toe the line between low health and death.
