Summary
Superviveis a brand new Battle Royale withsimilarities to MOBAsand Hero Shooters. With different Hunters to play, all with their own attacks and abilities, monsters to farm, Powers to find and use, Vaults to break, and soaring gliders, there’s a lot to learn for beginners.
Thesebeginner tips forSuperviveshould help players learn the basics and avoid some key mistakes, helping them avoid early eliminations and hopefully pick up some high-place finishes.
6Practice In Training Mode
Switch Between Any Hunter, Use Powers, Fight Monsters, & Practice Gliding
TheTraining ModeinSuperviveis simply excellent, allowing players to test out any Hunter at the click of a button, including the ones they don’t own. This is a much easier way to learn how abilities work, rather than using them in chaotic games, and by holding Left-Alt while hovering over an ability, players will learn many nuances.
There is a bot to practice abilities and damage output on, and across the map, there are monsters to fight. Players can instantly reach the max level, reset their abilities, purchase Powers for free to test out, and much more. Learning the intricacies of gliding and climbing up ledges is also best done in Practice Mode. Best of all, it loads incredibly fast andplayers can search for a game while practicing. This mode is found among the queue options in the drop-down menu beneath the Find Match button.
5Try To Drop On Monster Camps (The Purple Dots)
Killing Monsters Straight Away Gets The Team To Level 2
As with many otherBattle Royale games, players drop into the Skylands ofSuperviveat a location of their team leader’s choice. While there are many advanced tactics for choosing a location, the key for beginners to understand is that they want todrop on a purple dot.
These are where monster camps are located, and by killing one at the start of the game, thewhole team will level up, gaining a second ability. If another team is nearby and a fight ensues, the difference between one team having double the number of abilities is huge. When no enemies are close, teams can instead look for other monsters to kill, allowing them to further level up while also gaining Gold and item upgrades.
4Don’t Glide In Combat
Taking 1 Damage While Gliding Results In A Stun Or Instant Death (Spiking)
The gliders are an iconic part ofSupervive, and learning how to efficiently glide over the abyss, while preserving fuel is a skill of its own. The one thing beginners need to learn from the start, however, is that taking one single instance of damage, no matter how small, will result in a stun or instant death while gliding. If they are over land it will be a stun, but taking damage while gliding over the abyss will result in death. This is known as Spiking.
Therefore, it’s best not to glide in combat, even for a brief moment. This should only be done at a safe distance or with something to block projectiles in the way. Furthermore, while exploring the map, be careful when crossing the abyss to new land. If enemies are waiting on the other side, they can get some easy kills.
3Sound Matters In Supervive
Respawn Beacons, Vaults, & More All Make Loud Noises
One thing that beginners inSuperviveshould learn is that sound matters and awareness of this is crucial both foravoiding detectionandseeking out enemies. For example, when a Respawn Beacon is being used it makes a loud noise. Heading toward one of these can be great for those looking for easy kills, as the enemy team has at least one member dead, and any who respawn will be weak without full health, armor, and items.
Simultaneously, players should be prepared for attackers when using a Beacon themselves. Another example of sound being important is that when failing to break into a Vault, a loud noise will be emitted, alerting nearby enemies. Like manycompetitive shooter games, footsteps are also a big giveaway, but players can useCTRL to crouchand not make a noise.
2Smart Loot Death Boxes
Double-Clicking On Death Boxes Automatically Takes Any Superior Gear
When an enemy is properly killed inSupervive, they will drop a death box full of their loot. While players can take their time to sort through this gear, time is not always a luxury in fast-paced games. Therefore, it’s best to use the Smart Loot option, whichautomatically takes any superior gearand equips it to the player. For example, if a player has Tier 1 Armor and loots a box with Tier 2 Armor, the latter will be equipped.
To Smart Loot, simplyclick the Interact button again, which isF by default. In earlier versions of the game, the Interact button was insteadE, and players can set this if they feel more comfortable with it. As the Interact button is also used to open the box, the best thing to do isdouble-clickit for fast loots, even during combat. As an extra tip, death boxes are bigger when they contain better gear.
1Claim Base Camps
They Heal, Repair Armor, & Spot Enemies
Base Camps can be of great use inSupervive, as they offer teams a slew of bonuses. To capture one, simply stand in the middle until the light completes its circle. The first use ofBase Campsis that theyheal players and restore manawhen stood on. Secondly, players can spend a small amount of Gold torestore chunks of their armor. These first two points make fighting around a claimed base ideal.
At the green cauldron, players can alsobrew Vive Brewsfrom anyVive Beansthey have. These are essentially stronger heals than the beans. Players can alsoRecall by pressing B, and this will return them to their base. Pressing F during a recall will show the view of the base, which is particularly useful if enemies are around. Speaking of enemies, one major use of a base is to alert the team when enemies enter its vision. Finally, players can spend 5000 Gold to pack up their base and deploy it somewhere else.
