Path of Exile 2has a lot of classes andtons of customization in each, giving the game a lot of replayability. There are many locations and dungeons for players to explore while leveling up their characters, but running through the same dungeons over and over may get repetitive if they layout is the same.
Path of Exile 2’s answer to this is Instances, which are created every time you leave town and head to a new area. Here’s how instances work, and how to generate new areas to constantly be exploring something new.
What Are Instances In Path of Exile 2
Instances are randomly generated maps for a locationthat are created whenever you go there. When trying to enter a new region for the first time, or when an Instance doesn’t already exist, you’ll have to create a new one and enter it. Instances are only accessible to you and your party, and also only exist for a few minutes of real-world time that can be seen in the Instance menu when entering that area.
As when going back to that same area, you may enter an existing Instance to explore the same map and get to specific locations again. You can also choose tocreate as many Instances as you wantto make sure no two adventures are the same. When using the fast travel system, you’ll create a new Instance when traveling to that area for the first time. When fast traveling to somewhere that already has an existing Instance, you’ll fast travel into your existing Instance. Whenever you die and respawn, you’ll respawn in the same Instance you died in.
The only way to make a new Instance is by walking into a new area through a path, which are marked by an orange door icon on the map.
When Should You Make New Instances In Path of Exile 2
It’s highly recommended you always make a new Instance unless you are quickly trying to complete a quest. Making a new Instance will respawn everything in that area, including:
Making a new Instance every time will help make your character stronger, otherwise, you’ll just be running through empty spaces asmonsters don’t naturally respawn once an Instance is made. The only time monsters do respawn is when you die and respawn in the same Instance, though playersplaying on Hardcorewill be trying not to die making this the only way to respawn enemies and grind for XP.
