Ella Purnell Addresses Jinx’s Fate

Arcane’sofficial aftershow,Arcane Afterglow, has been an insightful source of information throughout the series, as the cast and creators Christian Linke and Alex Yee go over some of the unanswered questions in each batch of episodes. In the Act 3episode ofArcane Afterglow, Ella Purnell was asked whether she believed Jinx was dead afterArcane’sfinale, to which the actress responded“We don’t know… we’re gonna leave that open to interpretation.”While not a confirmation nor a denial, Purnell’s response does provide hope that Jinx may not have truly met her end inArcane’sfinal moments.

Arcane Producers Clear Up Jayce and Viktor’s Fate

Another couple of champions who met their demise inArcane’sfinale were Jayce and Viktor. After working together to create the innovative technology known as Hextech inArcane, Viktor and Jayce’s paths diverged in Season 2, as Jayce sought to stop an arcane corruption from spreading through Piltover, andViktor used his powersgained from the Hexcore to try and perfect society. This resulted in a climactic war between Piltover and Noxus in Season 2’s finale, but the heart of the battle came down to the two partners, with Jayce eventually helping Viktor see that his glorious evolution was the wrong path. The two then seemingly sacrificed their lives to put an end to Hextech for good.

During the aftershow, Linke wasasked whether Jayce and Viktormay have survived this event inArcane’sfinale, to which he said“they have unfortunately disintegrated”and that this event is considered the character’s end. While the logistics of exactly how the duo perished remains unclear, it seems that Jayce and Viktor’s deaths are more definitive than that of Jinx’s.

“Are they alright? No. Right now, I would say they have unfortunately disintegrated. They decide that they will face the consequences of Viktor’s glorious evolution together. That is unfortunately their end as well."

Linke did add later in the piece that he felt Jayce and Viktor’s deaths were the most difficult to process “The Jayce/Viktor ending, to a certain degree, it feels unresolved,” Linke said “Even though there is an understanding for them in the end, I just always feel like more should have been said and they should experience more together but we’re not given that time.” There’s no doubtArcaneended with some tragedies and some surprising changes toLeague of Legendslore. The series is intended to continue withother spin-offs set in the world of Riot’s game, so there is a chance for certain characters to be seen again afterArcane.
