List of EA Games Shutting Down in 2025

While it’s definitely disappointing thatUFC 3is shutting down, the good news is that there are newer UFC games that are still fully playable. 2020’sUFC 4still has online functionality, as does 2023’sUFC 5. In fact,UFC 5is still getting substantial updates. EA has not announced any plans to shut down the online services for those particular games, though it will happen eventually. It’s become clear that it’s just a matter of time before games like these lose their online features, and so consumers have to take that into consideration whenever they buy them.

Luckily, the vast majority of EA’s newer games can be played without actually buying them. If one issigned up for an EA Play subscription, or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, they get access to new EA games usually within six months after they launch. This way, gamers can play EA titles that they’re interested in without buying the games outright. It’s not a perfect solution by any means, but it may make it sting less whenever a game shuts down its online modes or is delisted.
