Despite its popularity among some segments of theMortal Kombat 1fan base, Towers of Time is arguably a huge downgrade fromInvasions mode. It offers no new story content and somehow manages to feel a lot more repetitive, particularly for those aiming to finish in the top 5%. However, one area in which the former can sometimes be better is through its prizes, with some Towers of Time rewards significantly better than anything that Invasions has to offer.

Unfortunately, claiming the top prize in Towers of Time will usually require an awful lot of griding, and this is made a lot worse by the fact that players have no idea what the points threshold for each rank is going to be. However, one thing thatisannounced ahead of time is what the current Towers of Time rewards are going to be, which can at least make it easier forMortal Kombat 1players to decide whether the grind is going to be worth their while.

Players will earn the reward for their current rank and all those below it when the Towers of Time timer reaches zero.

How Many Points Are Needed to Finish in the Top 5% of Towers of Time?

Sadly, the game gives no real indication as to how close players are to reaching or dropping out of a specific rank, which can make maintaining one’s position on the leaderboard a little tricky. In some Towers of Time events, a total of 1,000 Points has been enough to secure the top prize, but it really depends on what the reward for finishing in the top 5% is and its desirability among players. Announcer packs for popular orrecently released Kombatants like Ghostfaceare always likely to attract a bigger audience, so players should be prepared to grind out 1,500+ points if needed.

Players can check their current rank via the Towers of Time pause menu.

The Best Way to Earn Points in Towers of Time

When it comes to which tower players should choose, the Seasonal Tower offers the most pointsand also rewards players with new skins and palettes. However, this is also the most difficult of the towers and becomes even harder over time, so anyone who struggles against high-difficulty opponents may need to look elsewhere. The Legacy Tower offers a fairly respectable 10 Points and is made up of just five relatively straightforward fights, although players will need to spend 2,500 Krowns to enter. For those who plan onplaying through Invasions Mode, this entry fee shouldn’t be too much of a problem, particularly if they already raided all of the chests the last time around. For everybody else, though, one of the hourly towers in the background may prove to be a better option.

In addition to the points from towers, players can amass a decent amount of points bycompleting the easy, hard, and weekly challenges, which can be checked in the Towers of Time pause menu. Like a lot of the towers, these reset periodically and can serve as an excellent way to load up on points with just a few simple tweaks to one’s playstyle. Players can also earn useful rewards from Towers of Time challenges, such as Relics, Talismans, and Dragon Krystals, the latter of which can be used to purchase premium cosmetics based onclassic skins and palettes from previousMortal Kombatgames and movies.
