Summary

Ekko is one of the most well-designedLeague of Legendscharacters in terms of lore, gameplay, and cosmetics. Zaun’s time warping wonderkid has been featured in a variety of skin collections ever since his release in 2015.

Ekko was already one of the morenotable mid lane championsinLeague of Legends, and his popularity has substantially increased ever since hisappearance in the hit Netflix series,Arcane. Those who choose to play him in the game have a number of options when it comes to cosmetics. It’s time to take a look at the ten skins Ekko currently has and rank them from worst to best.

Academy Ekko

This list will not include Prestige Star Guardian Ekko and True Damage Breakout Ekko, as they do not differ much from their base skins.

10Academy Ekko

Deluxe Skin

Academy Ekko, unfortunately, secures the last spot on this list as Ekko’s worstLeague of Legendsskin. This skin was released in 2015, and it has aged quite poorly compared to all of his other skins. Ekko is dressed in a school uniform with minimal changes to his overall design.

There are no major changes in the visual effects of his abilities, which is a big let-down. Unless players get this skin in their loot, it is best not to purchase this mediocre skin, as it does not change much from his base model.

9Original Ekko

The Boy Who Shattered Time

Closely following the Academy skin is Ekko’s default skin. While it is extremely well-designed to capture the unique ambiance of Ekko, it is a default skin that pales in comparison to his other prominent skins.

There is not much else to critique about this cosmetic, as everyone who owns Ekko will have this skin. It does its job effectively, but does not hold a candle to the remaining entries on this list.

SKT T1 Ekko

8SKT T1 Ekko

Epic Skin

SKT T1 Ekko is a special skin for The Boy Who Shattered Time. This skin can only be acquired during the period of MSI or Worlds. Furthermore, this is a cosmetic in honor of former SKT T1’s top laner Lee “Duke” Ho-Seong, who won the 2016League of LegendsWorld Championship.

The skin incorporates a gold-and-red color palette, whilefeaturing the SKT T1 logoon some of his abilities. The sound effects are not the crispiest, and it falls in the land of mediocrity as a cosmetic that is just there. It is a decent skin, but it does not have any outstanding features to make it truly shine.

Star Guardian Ekko

7Star Guardian Ekko

The Star Guardian skin universeis one of the few collections that just does not fit well with Ekko’s thematic. While it is a unique take on his character and an unexpected skin universe for him to feature in, the visuals and character model are not the greatest.

The abilities lack a powerful punch, and they do not have the same smoothness compared to the best Ekko skins. Some of the chromas do make this skin look gorgeous, but this is an example of a skin that could have been so much better.

Trick or Treat Ekko

6Trick Or Treat Ekko

Trick or Treat is one of Ekko’s most underrated skins, due to its rare availability in the store. This skin has apt sound effects and gives an interesting vibe to Ekko’s abilities.

The major downsides of this skin are the redesign of his melee weapon and the fact that the colors do not suit him too well. Overall, it is a middle of the pack skin for Ekko, though it still deserves a lot more recognition than it gets.

Firelight Ekko

5Firelight Ekko

Firelight Ekko remains faithful to hisappearance inArcane’s first season. This is the quintessential example of a skin where minimal, smooth visual effects synchronize well to create wonders. The green color featured in all of his abilities makes it even cooler and more impactful. This skin expertly captures Ekko’s undying allegiance to the Firelights as their leader.

4PROJECT: Ekko

Ekko’s foray into the PROJECT skin universe saw him receive his first Epic skin, and it does not disappoint despite being released several years ago. Ever since his release, the PROJECT skin line was a no-brainer for Ekko to be featured in, considering his background as an inventor and time manipulator.

Once again, the green aesthetic works quite well on this skin. The sound effects and the visual changes to his abilities are the best parts of this skin. PROJECT: Ekko remains one of the most popular skins for Zaun’s rebellious tinkerer.

PROJECT Ekko

3Sandstorm Ekko

Standard Skin

Sandstorm is easily Ekko’s most distinct skin. When players look at this champion, they would not expect him to be featured in a desert-based skin collection. However, Riot Games did a phenomenal job designing this cosmetic. This skin is an absolute steal too, costing only 975 Riot Points.

Ekko’s attire is phenomenal and captures the essence of a wandering nomad. The visuals of his abilities are not the best, but the sound effects more than make up for it. It is one of Ekko’s smoothest skins, and a staple for players that main him.

2Pulsefire Ekko

Pulsefire is another skin collection for Ekko that fits like a glove. The technologically advanced, futuristic sound effects elevate this skin to a new degree. The default color palette fits him surprisingly well, with a bunch of noteworthy chromas as well.

The only gripe with this skin is the underwhelming in-game character model. Aside from this one blemish, the SFX and ability design makes it one of Ekko’s best skins inLeague of Legends.

1True Damage Ekko

Legendary Skin

It is only fitting for Ekko’s only legendary skin to be his best. True Damage is, hands down, one of thebest designed skins in the game. Ekko’s fluid movement, epic voice lines, eye-catching visuals, and empowering sound effects make this the complete package.

It is evident that Riot went all-out in making this skin, and it was a resounding success. It reinterprets Ekko as a successful rapper for the band GIANTS, and incorporates the catchy characteristics of his alternate persona seamlessly. True Damage Ekko remains a hallmark for music-based skins inLeague of Legends.
